A CAMPAIGN to give away thousands of pound of free advertising to the business community has got off to a flying start.

The joint initiative between Daily Echo, the Bournemouth Town Centre BID, Poole BID and BCP Council has been inundated with requests for inclusion from businesses across the conurbation.

The campaign is called ‘Stay Local, Spend Local’ and aims to promote, support and revitalise the economy in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

Sales director of the Daily Echo and its digital marketing brand LOCALiQ Tracy Hayden said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response which has been phenomenal. Businesses really want to get their message out there and back on the road to recovery.”

Advertising opportunities delivered by the Daily Echo and LOCALiQ will include 10 day print packages in classified and permanent inclusion in an online directory which plays a key role in helping to get your business seen and found online.

In addition, there will be a large number of free business profiles in print and targeted digital campaigns online at bournemouthecho.co.uk all with trusted editorial backing.

Businesses need to make their application by June 30 but can place their advertising at any time in June, July and August.

To qualify you must be a business owner with premises in the BCP Council area.

Mrs Hayden added: “This unprecedented package backed by our partners in the two BIDs and BCP Council has the full weight of our trusted editorial team behind it.”

Chief operating officer of Bournemouth Town Centre BID Paul Kinvig added: “I am delighted the campaign has taken off so quickly and I believe it will make a big difference”.

He said Bournemouth Town Centre BID levy payers needed to make their applications through the Echo link to take advantage of added promotional benefits. Steve Reilly of Poole BID added: “This gives all businesses in the Poole BID area the opportunity for free advertising with the Echo. This combined with editorial coverage will help raise the profile of Poole.”

“The campaign is a key part of Poole BID’s recovery plan which is fully focused on marketing Poole Town Centre and Quay as the place to shop, eat and drink as we all adjust to the new normal”
