A sign seemingly blasting Dominic Cummings' trip to Durham has appeared in Bridport.
The sign, which states 'except Dominic Cummings' has been placed under an existing digital sign stating 'stay alert, control the virus, save lives'.
It is thought to have appeared on The Crown roundabout in Bridport sometime on Tuesday afternoon, but it is not yet known who put it there.
Highways England was alerted to the sign on Wednesday and was trying to ascertain whose sign it is and who owns the land it is on. It confirmed the sign 'is not their asset, nor is it located on the A35' which it maintains.
A spokesman for Dorset Council said: "We are using temporary road signs at the request of the Department for Transport to help remind people of their responsibilities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"It seems that a local anonymous prankster has added their opinion to one of our signs in west Dorset. The additional homemade sign is unauthorised so it will be removed."
