THE Coastguard helicopter was launched yesterday to a casualty experiencing chest pains on the Dorset coast.
Rescuers planned to get the woman to safety from Mupe Bay by sea using a lifeboat to Lulworth Cove where she would be met by team members and an awaiting ambulance.
On arrival at Mupe Bay, Lulworth coastguard's station officer assessed her and decided a faster way was required due to her being in 'considerable' pain. Coastguard rescue helicopter 175 from Lee-on-Solent was tasked and made its way to the scene.
The casualty was transferred from Mupe Bay by air to Whitecliff Park to meet the South Western Ambulance Service.
Poole Coastguard Rescue Team attended to clear walkers and cyclists so the helicopter could safely land. The casualty was then taken to hospital by road for further check ups.
