WINDOWS on a car parked in Bournemouth were smashed by a man attempting to steal from it.
Police received a report that a man was breaking the windows of the car in the area of Sunnyhill Road, Southbourne, at 4.51pm on Wednesday, May 13.
It was also reported that the man spouted verbal abuse at a member of the public.
Officers attended and arrested a 34-year-old Bournemouth man in Castlemain Avenue.
The man was reportedly found in possession of a number of items suspected to be stolen from the One Stop store in Seabourne Road. It was subsequently confirmed that a theft had taken place at the store.
The man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, theft from a motor vehicle and a public order offences and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
