MORE than 100 Dorset care home residents have died after contracting coronavirus, the Office for National Statistics has confirmed.
Between April 10 and May 8, 111 people have died in care homes, including 18 between May 1 and May 8.
The figures, which are released weekly by the ONS and the Care Quality Commission, break down the numbers by local authority.
In the BCP Council area, 58 care home residents have died.
The latest coming as two people died on May 8.
In the Dorset Council area, 53 people have died.
The 53rd came on May 7, when one person died.
According to the figures, 8,314 care home residents have died from coronavirus across England.
