This photo was taken 75 years ago to celebrate VE Day and incorporate May Day by having a May Queen.
My father who was a marine in the First World War was the chairman of the Talbot Rise club and his committee decided to organize a celebration with joining May Day Queen with VE Day, celebration in the Town Hall in Bournemouth
The photo is taken outside St Stephens Church.
I am the little handmaid aged 8.
