A THIEF stole a purse, driving licence and 200 euros from a woman in Winton Library.

On February 4, a woman aged in her 50s was in Winton Library when a man stole the items from her bag while she was momentarily distracted.

The incident happened between 1pm and 1.30pm.

A short time later, the victim’s bank cards were used to make fraudulent transactions totalling £55 in Sainsbury’s and WH Smith in the high street.

Police have now issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak with. Police constable Sian Maynard, of Dorset Police, said: “We have made a number of enquiries into this incident and I am now in a position to release a CCTV image of a man I would like to speak to.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”
