MOTORISTS are facing delays this morning as Gravel Hill is closed due to a crash.

Police, ambulance and fire service are on the scene following reports of a two-vehicle collision.

The crash involves a Vauxhall Vectra, driven by a 57-year-old male from the Wimborne area, and a Hyundai Kona, driven by a 55-year-old male from the Farnborough area.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Traffic control was initially put in place, however, due to the need for the extraction of a passenger in the Vauxhall Vectra the road needed to be closed to allow the fire service to work safely."

It was reported that the passenger was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment.

Police were called to the scene at 8.28am and they hope to reopen the road as soon as possible.
