A 1960's plastic doll and her playmate are expected to sell for over £1000 in the Charterhouse two day collector's auction on March 5 and 6.

Known as Sasha dolls, they were named after their Swiss artist and doll maker Sasha Morgenthaler.

Bought for their owner in the late 1960's, Sasha and Gregor come to auction in the same condition they were in when gifted to the young girl over 50 years ago, which is a testament to how well looked after they were.

Once regarded as second hand old toys of limited value, today Sasha, with her brunette hair and blue gingham dress, is estimated at £800-£1,200 whilst her friend, blonde Gregor, wears a brown cord dungaree outfit and is valued at £200-£400.

Viewing for these two dolls amongst other collector items and antiques is on March 5 and March 6.
