A GRAMMY award-winning singing sensation will perform at Bournemouth International Centre on Monday, May 25.

Gregory Porter is embarking on a UK tour this spring following the release of his first original music in three years.

His new single, Revival, was released earlier this month while his sixth studio album, All Rise, comes out on Friday, April 17.

The American singer-songwriter rose to fame in 2013 with the release of his Blue Note debut, Liquid Spirit, which won a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Gregory has since gone on to carve out a place as one of the greatest singers of our generation, performing for the Queen, appearing on the biggest TV shows and gracing the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Gregory also collaborated with Disclosure on Holding On and released a dance hit, Liquid Spirit - Claptone Remix, which became one of the most popular tracks in Ibiza.

2017 saw Gregory win another Grammy Award for his fourth album, Take Me to the Alley, and last year he became the first celebrity to sing a lullaby on Cbeebies' Bedtime Stories.

Of his new single, Revival, in which he returns to his songwriting roots, Gregory says: "For me, it’s about having fear and self-doubt, but grabbing onto something that you know is real, the silent and real things, the truth… Once you can grab onto the truth then a fearlessness comes."

Produced by Troy Miller, who has worked with Calvin Harris, Amy Winehouse and Rag 'n' Bone Man, All Rise features a stirring mix of jazz, soul, blues, and gospel. The album also combines the talents of Gregory's longtime bandmates, a handpicked horn selection, a 10-piece choir, and the London Symphony Orchestra strings.

2020 will also see Gregory take the position of guest curator at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, where he will perform on Tuesday, May 5.

His performance at the BIC's Windsor Hall begins at 7.30pm. Tickets range from £48.75 to £68.50 and are available now from the venue's website or by contacting the box office.
