A LORRY driver caught speeding by police told officers he was trying to catch up with his friend who would "make fun of me for the rest of the day".
The HGV was detected by members of Dorset Police's No Excuse Team near Ringwood Road, Bearcross.
An officer from the team said the lorry was detected doing 53mph in a 40mph zone.
The driver reportedly told police: "I was trying to catch my mate up for the next load, my mate will now make fun of me for the rest of the day and my wife will be cross with me."
