POLICE have handed a campervan driver a ticket – for travelling too slowly.

Officers with Dorset Police's No Excuse team spotted the white van travelling in the outside lane along the Dorset Way in Poole yesterday afternoon.

It was reaching speeds of just 36 miles per hour. The limit is 50mph.

Another vehicle, frustrated by the vehicle's speed, undertook on the inside lane. Police issued both drivers with tickets.

A spokesperson from the team said: "Travelling along the Dorset Way towards Bournemouth, we came across a white campervan sitting in the outside lane travelling at 36mph.

"There was nothing on the inside lane for half a mile.

"In frustration, a vehicle appeared at speed from behind and undertook on the inside lane, then went over to the outside lane to overtake further vehicles.

"This manoeuvre was dangerous.

"Both drivers received a ticket for driving without due care and attention."
