A MAN who sent pizza and beer to a woman's home during a campaign of harassment has been warned to stay away from his victim.

Leigh Hopson, of Braishfield Gardens, Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court earlier this week to admit harassing the victim on dates between August 11 and 31 last year.

Between those dates, the 33-year-old sent more than 400 text messages to her, the court heard.

He also had deliveries of food and beer sent to her home in East Dorset.

Magistrates sentenced Hopson to a community order, under which he must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

He was also issued with a restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim in any way until January 2022.

Editor’s note:  The defendant contacted us in May 2020 to say that he sent beer and pizza on only one occasion.
