IT is interesting to note that the council are constructing a road across Wessex Fields but are not completing the link to Deansleigh which would have enabled traffic exiting the hospital and adjacent businesses to choose a different route rather than getting stuck on Castle Lane.
This was one of the major reasons put forward at the planning meeting resulting in the permission being granted.
There is nothing to prevent them from constructing the road over a period, but since the sole purpose of the approval given was for a link road it cannot be used until the final link is made.
Most specifically the road cannot be used to access the development land since this was not part of the of the application and certainly not part of the permission granted.
The fact that the final link is not being made also raises the query as to whether there is reason for this decision which possibly could be that the land ownership is in doubt.
