POLICE launched a search after two men ran off from the scene of a crash on Thursday afternoon.
Officers were called to Watcombe Avenue in Southbourne just after 3.25pm after a car hit a tree.
No arrests have yet been made.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We were called to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a car that had gone into a tree in Watcombe Road.
"It was reported that the two male occupants of the vehicle had left the scene.
"Officers attended and carried out searches of the area but the men were not found. Road closures were put in place as officers dealt with the incident.
"The vehicle was recovered and the road was reopened at around 4.55pm.
"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the two men involved."
