THE BOURNEMOUTH Air Festival was the decided winner for the Primary Times Star Awards' category of favourite local fair, show or festival.

This was due to the entertaining, family orientated activities and displays available at the festival.

The Air Festival also bagged top spot in the Free Local Family Event category.

Bournemouth Air Festival Director, Jon Weaver said: "It’s fantastic to win great local awards, which are importantly voted for by residents. It goes to show how much our well established, free festival is much appreciated and loved.

He added: "Huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to vote for us."

The outcome of the survey is of special importance to many local businesses who value the insightful nature of the award results, as the families who complete the survey are often customers or potential customers.

The survey appeared on the Primary Times website from July to October, with the questions formulated to incite open and honest replies from the readers.

Some of these responses resulted in the successful result for the Bournemouth Air Festival, who was top for two of the categories.

Publishing Editor at Primary Times, Linda Edwards also expressed her thanks: "We’d like to say a massive thank you to our readers for their valued contribution to the Reader Star Awards.

"The results are incredibly insightful and are sure to help other local families decide what to do and where to go."
