MONKEY World will be back on our screens next month when the latest series documenting the daily dramas of its residents is aired.

Monkey Life, series 12, starts at 7pm on Sunday December 1 and will feature new arrivals as well as many old favourites.

The series, which will be on @Pick_TV, follows Dr Alison Cronin and her team as she rescues primates in need from around the world and rehabilitates them into groups of their own kind at the Dorset sanctuary.

The programme is one of the longest-running documentaries on TV and is often compared to a soap opera.

It started life as Monkey Business in 1998 and has since been renamed.

Monkey World, near Wool, attracts thousands of visitors every year, many of whom discovered the sanctuary on TV.

It was founded in 1987 to help governments around the world to stop the smuggling of primates from the wild to become pets.
