A MAN has been arrested after a recent spate of thefts of catalytic converters.

Police based in North and East Dorset executed a warrant at a home in Colehill this week after a surge in thefts.

Officers made the arrest on the morning of Tuesday, November 12.

A member of the East Dorset Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Following a recent spate of thefts of catalytic converters from vehicles in the North and East Dorset regions, Dorset Police executed a warrant for an address in the Colehill area under the Theft Act.

"A person has been arrested and several items seized. Officers are continuing their investigation.

"Warrants such as these are only made possible by community led intelligence and we would encourage all members of the public to report suspicious behaviour to either 101 or 999 if you believe a crime is in progress."
