SEVERAL thousands of pounds worth of perfume and aftershave was stolen by members of a gang who forced their way into a branch of Boots after hours.

Dorset Police have appealed for witnesses following the raid, which took place at the Wimborne Road store around 11.30pm on Monday night.

Investigators say a group of four or five people are believed to have forced the front doors open.

The exact value of the goods is yet to be determined, but officers say it is believed to be several thousands of pounds.

PC Chloe Chapman, of Bournemouth North Police, said: "We are continuing to investigate this burglary and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.

"I am keen to speak to anyone who witnesses any suspicious activity in the area on the night of Monday 11, November."

The gang is thought to have left the store via a side door heading into Leslie Road.
