RAIL passengers are facing disruption this morning due to an electrical fault on the line between Southampton and Bournemouth.
South Western Railways said there is a fault with the third rail and the Southampton-bound line is blocked.
A sign displayed by the station management team at Bournemouth station says: "Please be aware that services are severely delayed today from this station.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
A spokesman said: "We have been informed of a problem affecting the power supply to the third rail in the Hinton Admiral area.
"At present trains are unable to run between Bournemouth and Southampton Central, trains in the opposite direction are unaffected."
South Western Railways said tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on Cross Country Trains, which are able to run because they are diesel.
Tickets are also valid on local buses.
