Hundreds of protesters have taken to the streets of Bournemouth and Poole today as part of ongoing rallies to demand action against the global climate crisis.
Many pupils from primary and secondary schools across the conurbation joined the rally in Bournemouth Square, organised by Youth Strike 4 Climate, Poole Climate Campaigners and the UK Student Climate Network.
Other rallies were held in Poole and Christchurch, with parents, teachers and business owners taking part.
This comes as the millions of people around the world have taken to the streets as part of global climate strikes ahead of the planned UN Climate Action Summit in New York on Monday.
Natalia Blichowska, one of the organisers of the rally, said: “I did not expect there to be this many people here today.
“There have been some really powerful and emotional speeches, you can tell that this means a lot to so many people.”
