EXPERTS have warned rising temperatures could see an increase of burglaries this bank holiday weekend.
Tom Vaughan, head of home at insurance firm Confused.com, said: “Temperatures are set to hit the high-20s this bank holiday weekend.
“It is only natural to open our windows to cool down. But now is the time to be extra vigilant so that our home security isn’t compromised.”
There were 102,415 burglaries across the UK between June and August last year, figures show.
“We should all be locking up, especially when we leave the house and keeping valuables hidden away from plain sight, or we could be invalidating our home insurance,” said Mr Vaughan. “If you do fall victim to summer thieves and you’re confused about what to do, you can use our guide for the best advice.”
