A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital after a crash involving a car in Poole on Tuesday afternoon.
Police and ambulance service were called to Norton Way at 4.52pm to a report of a collision, which involved a blue Ford Focus Zetec and a silver Yamaha motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a Poole man aged in his 60s, sustained injuries that were not believed to be serious but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Officers closed the road while the ambulance service treated the casualty.
Moresus reported that there services had been unable to use the Poole Lifting Bridge due to the collision. As a result, the outbound 8 service and inbound 9 service used the Twin Sails bridge. Services were unable to serve Norton Way.
The road was reopened at around 6pm.
