AWARD-WINNING folk duo Ninebarrow return to Lighthouse, Poole on Saturday September 14 for a rare and very special hometown show – their first with a full five-piece band line-up.

Mainstays Jon Whitley and Jay LaBouchardiere will not only be joined by cellist and long-term collaborator, Lee MacKenzie, but also the extraordinary talents of John Parker on double bass and Evan Carson on percussion. With brand new songs and brilliantly realised arrangements of some old favourites, The Ninebarrow Band promise something absolutely unique.

Described by Mark Radcliffe as sounding like “two halves of one voice”, by Seth Lakeman as “a fantastic duo” and by Kate Rusby as “absolutely amazing”, Jon and Jay combine breath taking vocal harmonies and melodies to delivering songs that are inspired and rooted in the landscape and history of the British Isles.

Not only exceptional singers and musicians, Ninebarrow are also equally passionate about the stories behind their songs. An evening with the duo isn't just an evening of great music - it's also a night of history, folklore, and storytelling.

Their latest album, The Waters and the Wild reached number two in the Amazon Folk Chart and earned five star reviews in both The Morning Star and the English Folk Dance & Song Society’s EDS Magazine. Folk luminary Mike Harding hailed it as “absolutely monumental.”

The Ninebarrow Band perform at 8pm on Saturday, September 14
