THE paddling pool at Hamworthy Park has reopened following its £381,000 refurbishment.

Work started on the project in February this year, and had been originally earmarked for completion during April.

However, problems with water pressure that arose during construction pushed the project's finish date back.

BCP Council environment and climate change cabinet member Cllr Felicity Rice said: "This popular paddling pool has provided endless family fun over the last 80+ years. It’s great to see that it has now been extensively refurbished and reopened so that it can be enjoyed by future generations to come.

“Having such a great free attraction on your doorstep means that residents and visitors can really make the most of the natural environment and beautiful surroundings that we are lucky enough to call home. They can also increase their health and wellbeing by being active and enjoying quality family time.

“Thank you to all the ward councillors and the Friends of Hamworthy Park for making this happen."

The Friends of Hamworthy Park group raised £31,000 towards the scheme.
