A MAN whose body was recovered from the sea 20 miles off the Dorset coast died of drowning, an inquest heard.

Polish-born Jaroslaw Sajur was pronounced dead at Swanage lifeboat station, 20 days after he was reported missing from his Bournemouth home, assistant Dorset coroner Brendan Allen was told.

The Bournemouth inquest heard the 35-year-old had failed to return to his home in Wellington Road, Bournemouth.

His body was discovered on May 23 this year, nearly three weeks after his clothes had been found on the beach at the East Cliff zigzag in Bournemouth.

Mr Sajur was formally identified by DNA comparison.

The inquest was adjourned until January 23 next year.
