A MAN was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill in New Milton.
As reported yesterday, a cul-de-sac in Brecon Close, near Tesco, was in lockdown on Wednesday while armed police responded to reports of a disturbance and concerns for the welfare of people at a property.
A four-hour siege followed, and after a prolonged period of negotiation a 32-year-old local man was arrested at the scene. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson confirmed the details of the arrest yesterday.
Residents reported seeing around a dozen armed officers, a police dog, a fire engine and two ambulance service vehicles at the scene on Wednesday.
A neighbour was told to leave his home and stay away while police dealt with the incident, while other neighbours were asked to stay inside their properties.
