A MYSTERY person, who has called themselves ‘The Flower Fairy’, has been brightening people’s days by leaving bunches of flowers around for them to pick up.

Verwood residents have been posting pictures of bouquets they have found on benches, and even their own cars, on a community Facebook group.

Handwritten cards have been attached to the flowers with messages including: ‘Please take. Bringing a little happiness. The Flower Fairy’ and ‘I’m glad you picked me up. Wishing you a lovely day whoever you are. All my love The Flower Fairy’.

News of the random acts of kindness has been shared on the Verwoodians group, with lucky recipients thanking the anonymous ‘Flower Fairy’.

Elena Marie Gunner, who picked up a bunch of sunflowers, said: “Thank you Flower Fairy. I’ve had quite a tough week and this was my highlight. Keep spreading the love!”

And Milli Schofield, who found some bright pink blooms placed on her car, said: “Thank you to the Verwood Flower Fairy for putting a smile on my face today”.

The kind-hearted gesture has captured the hearts of locals.

Commenting on the photos of flowers, people were full of praise for The Flower Fairy.

Angela Pinner said: “What a beautiful thing to do. No one knows what problems people are dealing with in their lives.

“To receive something like this could mean so much to someone.”

Mandy Marshall said: “This is such a lovely thing to do. Well done ‘Flower Fairy’.”

And Sian Ella said: “What a lovely, simple way to make someone’s day. How beautiful.”

No one has stepped forward yet to reveal themselves as The Flower Fairy.
