SHOPPERS leapt to safety as a runaway car smashed through the front window of a Lymington toy shop earlier this week.
The red Citroen, which had no driver, careered into Figgures Toys just after 3pm on Monday, July 1.
It is believed that the handbrake on the car had not been engaged and police are examining the circumstances of the accident.
Witnesses said it narrowly missed a number of people shopping in the town.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Hampshire Police on 101.
