A DEVELOPER is set to be given permission to increase the number of flats in an already approved scheme from 10 to 16.
St Gresham’s application to revise its plans for the Cardigan Road site in Winton was submitted in January
Its original proposals were approved at appeal in 2014 but it is now seeking permission to reduce the amount of allocated commercial space in favour of a larger residential area.
Members of the BCP Council planning committee will consider the revisions at their meeting on Thursday (June 27) after former Bournemouth councillor Pat Oakley called it in due to concerns about the “sub-standard” accommodation.
Despite this, a report published ahead of the meeting recommends that the application is approved.
“The proposal provides residential development in a sustainable location and the additional six flats will contribute towards local housing supply,” it says.
“The size of the proposed flats and living conditions are considered acceptable.”
