A MAN accused of driving at 155mph in his Porsche on the A35 Puddletown Bypass has denied the charge.
Daniel Lee Ryan Sweeney-Hutt, aged 29, of Moriconium Quay, Poole, appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court yesterday (Tues).
He has been charged with speeding – in particular, driving a car exceeding 70mph on a dual carriageway – which he denies. A trial date has now been set for a later date.
The offence is alleged to have occurred on Tuesday, March 19 this year.
At the time, the Echo reported that a man had been arrested on suspicion of speeding on the road near Dorchester. The speed limit on the bypass is 70mph.
Chairman of the bench Debbie Boitoult told the defendant: “You have pleaded not guilty, your case will now go to trial, that will be at Poole Magistrates Courts on Wednesday, July 3 this year, at 2pm in the afternoon.”
