A MAN who suffered severe head injuries in a car crash died 13 years later, an inquest heard.
Acting Dorset Coroner Brendan Allen heard John Edward Crosland needed nursing care following the crash in 2006.
And the Bournemouth inquest was told his health started to decline on April 19 this year.
Following the decline in health, a Do Not Resuscitate Order was put in place.
Mr Allen was told he died in Shelley Park Nursing Home in Florence Road, Boscombe on May 23 at the age of 54.
A post mortem examination revealed Mr Crosland died of severe traumatic brain injury.
The hearing was adjourned until March 9 next year to allow for further inquiries to be carried out by the coroner.
The inquest heard Mr Crosland was born in Tidworth in Hampshire on May 10 1965. His family have been made aware of the circumstances of his death.
