FIRE services were called out five times in just one hour on Tuesday evening to tackle a variety of blazes across the Bournemouth and Poole area.
At 5.53pm a crew from Poole was called to extinguish a small fire near Portesham Way.
Three minutes later there was a false alarm at Stephens Castle in Verwood and less than ten minutes after that Springbourne crew used wo hose reel jets to extinguish a car fire in Hogarth Way.
Crews from Redhill Park station, including a pump and Landrover, extinguished a fire involving grassland and scrub using one hose reel jet at 6.15pm on Queens Park West Drive in Bournemouth.
There was a further heath fire at Turbary Common just after 6.30pm which was attended by
crews from Westbourne, Springbourne, Ferndown and Poole. Meanwhile, a fire covering 100 square metres of heathland at Warburton Road in Canford Heath, was attended by two pumps from Poole and the Landrover from Redhill Park. It was extinguished using a hosereel and beaters.
At 7pm, after receiving 16 calls, the Christchurch service attended Southbourne Overcliff Drive and extinguished a small blaze using one hose reel jet.
