MORE than 200 toddlers took part in a fundraising walk in Poole Park.
The 18th annual Poole Park ‘Toddlethon’ saw pre-school children, sponsored by family and friends, ‘toddle’ once around the cycle track at Poole Park. Some tots who haven’t quite found their feet yet were being pushed in buggies by their parents, grandparents, child minders or nursery staff.
Over the last 17 years, the Toddlethon has raised over £70,000 for child-related charities, with the majority being spent locally.
Poole Bay Rotary organised the fundraiser, which was open to all pre-school children. Alun Williams from the club said: “It was beautiful sunny weather for the Toddlethon. After the toddle, the children enjoyed juice and biscuits and were entertained by Jamie Jigsaw, which was brilliant.
“Over the past few years, we’ve raised £4,000 at the event and we hope to have raised even more this year.”
The event raises money for several charities including Dorset Mind, Life Education Wessex and Home-Start.
