BECOME a junior ranger at the UK's favourite nature reserve.
That's the offer from the National Trusts', Brownsea Island which is preparing to welcome children aged eight and upwards at a special day on May 29.
Young visitors will have the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a ranger for a day and complete a number of practical tasks.
Brownsea is one of the last remaining strongholds in the south of England for the rare red squirrel. Junior day rangers will help contribute towards the conservation of this unique habitat. Under the supervision of professional rangers, they will take part in different physical outdoor tasks, discovering new skills and building confidence as well as building dens.
The Ranger day will take place on May 29 from 11am-3pm and all children must be accompanied by an adult. it costs £15 per child, with normal admission fees and boat fares applying.
