This year’s Purbeck Art Weeks Festival brings another superb programme of concerts and talks, plus artistic riches from over 100 artists across Purbeck.
Painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, wood workers, digital and textile artists and more, are looking forward to welcoming visitors into their Open Studios and giving some insights into how they work from May 25 to June 9.
Be inspired by visual art during the day and performing art in the evenings (with a glass of wine). Gabrieli plus brass and timpani celebrate the English Coronations of the 20th century while I Fagiolini return with a performance celebrating Leonardo da Vinci in art and music.
Historic Rollington Barn is again hosting PAW’s gloriously eclectic exhibition showing at least one piece of art from artists taking part in this year’s festival. Every year the event involves around 500 young people (Purbeck Young Artists) from schools across Purbeck and their creative results will also be on display at Rollington, based in this year’s Flights of Fancy theme.
There will also be a Grand Raffle with the chance to win £250 of art of your choice, and visitors can have a go at sketching with a special Sketch PAW drawing pad which will be on sale at Rollington - and share the results to win a prize.
