A MAN who drove the morning after drinking two bottles of wine has been banned from the roads for 18 months.
Onder Bulbul, of Christchurch Road in Bournemouth, was stopped by police at around 5.30am on April 30. He was behind the wheel of a Mercedes E350.
Bulbul, 39, had 65 micrograms of alcohol in breath. The limit is 35mg.
He appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Thursday to admit drink driving.
Richard Withey, prosecuting, said: "Two police officers were on patrol in Charminster Road.
"They saw the Mercedes turn right into Richmond Park Road. It then stopped for no apparent reason before continuing to drive erratically.
"The driver braked without reason, accelerated and then braked again."
The officers say Bulbul had "clearly been drinking" when they stopped the Mercedes.
The defendant, who was unrepresented and spoke through a Turkish interpreter, said he is diabetic and had not been taking his medication properly.
He no longer lives with his wife or young son, it was said.
"I hadn't taken my medication on that day and my morale was low," Bulbul told magistrates.
"I made a big mistake."
The defendant was sentenced to a £250 fine and ordered to pay a £30 surcharge and £85 costs. He was also disqualified from driving.
