A SUPERMARKET worker was spat at after a shoplifter stole bottles of alcohol from the store last week.
Police were called to Sainsbury's in Meeting House Lane, Ringwood on Friday, May 3, after the incident, which happened sometime between 1.35pm and 2pm.
A man walked into the store, picked up the bottles and left without paying. A member of staff then approached him and asked him to go back to the supermarket.
However, the man spat at the woman and walked off.
Officers investigating the incident have described him as aged between 20 and 26, around six feet tall, of mixed race, slim built and with short, brown hair.
He was wearing a black tracksuit top with the letters MAX on the back, black tracksuit bottoms and black and white trainers.
An image of a man police would like to speak to in connection with the incident has been released. Anyone who recognises the man is asked to call Hampshire police on 101 quoting crime reference number 44190152156.
