POOLE Park was well and truly glowing as hundreds of runners took part in the Dorset Neon Run, in aid of Diverse Abilities.

More than 500 people ran or walked the 5k course donning their neon paint, tutus, glow sticks and bracelets, raising nearly £17,000 for the charity that supports children and adults living with disabilities in Dorset.

Local radio station Hot 102.8 provided sounds throughout the night, with a Clubbercise instructor getting everyone in the party mood by hyping up the crowds with a fun-filled warm up before the run.

First-place runner was Tom Cannon, second place Jim Dyke and Alice Angel took third place.

Sue Reid, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “We were thrilled with the fantastic turnout at our Dorset Neon Run. Everyone looked amazing in their neon bling and really lit up the night while raising funds for Diverse Abilities, supporting hundreds of local people living with disabilities.

“A big thank you goes to everyone that took part, our event sponsor Castlepoint, our fantastic volunteers and staff, Hot Radio, Clubbercise instructor Emma and Dorset Search and Rescue. We are already looking forward to next year’s Dorset Neon Run taking place on April 25 2020.”
