A ROAD in North Dorset was closed for more than three hours and a man was taken to hospital with a serious injury on Saturday evening after a two-car crash.
The A354 Dorchester Hill was shut off from the Winterborne Kingston turn off to Whatcombe Lane following the collision near Winterborne Whitechurch.
Emergency services attended after reports of the incident at 6.50pm and police asked motorists to avoid the area.
The crash involved a grey Alfa Romeo, registered in Blandford, and a green Ford Mondeo, registered in Portland.
One male casualty was taken to hospital for treatment.
The road re-opened around 10.30pm.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We attended a serious RTC involving two vehicles.
"One male casualty was taken to hospital to receive treatment.
"No arrests have been made at this stage but investigations are on-going."
