PLANS have been submitted to convert a vacant shop in Highcliffe into a “small bistro” restaurant.
The proposal for 253 Lymington Road, which previously traded as The Crafty Wool Shop, has been put forward to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.
Applicant Charles Lebas is seeking permission for a change of use so he can open a 25-seat restaurant.
The shop closed down in 2016 having previously operated from the site for 18 years without the correct planning use consent from the local authority.
The premises is currently listed as D1 use – non-residential institutions – and requires an A3 consent to operate as a restaurant.
Mr Lebas plans to open the restaurant from 9am to 10.30pm on Monday to Friday, 9am to 11pm on Saturday and 9am to 9pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
