THE family of the late Joyce Faris, former owner of the Hengistbury Head land train, are hoping for “colours, gaiety and laughter” at her funeral.
Joyce, who ran the privately-owned land train for more than 40 years, died at the age of 93 last week. Her son John Jameson-Davis said the funeral would take place at Bournemouth Crematorium on Tuesday, May 14, at 2pm.
He said the plan is to place floral wreaths on the ‘Noddy Trains’ which are currently “sitting idle in the yard” due to an ongoing HSE investigation.
“The plan is to put the wreaths on the ‘Noddy Train’ and then place them ceremoniously onto the coffin for the journey to the crematorium.”
He added: “Mum loved colours and gaiety and laughter, so no need for people to turn up dressed in morbid blacks and greys. If I had my way, it would be a state funeral to rival Queen Victoria’s.”
