A BURGLAR who broke into a church and stole cash and a laptop has been ordered to battle his drug addiction.
James Perks, who is of no fixed abode, raided the Holy Epiphany Church in Castle Lane West, Bournemouth at some point between March 6 and 8.
He stole £77 cash, three tablet computers and a laptop.
On Tuesday, Perks, 39, admitted a single count of burglary at Poole Magistrates' Court.
His sentence was deferred to allow him to comply with a set of conditions, including that he attend Addaction and maintain his current methadone script.
He must also keep out of trouble and attend all probation service appointments.
A sentencing hearing will take place at the court in May.
