A MAN was evacuated from Dancing Ledge at the weekend, after dislocating his shoulder while coasteering.
Both Swanage RNLI lifeboats were launched after being requested by the St Albans Coastguard team.
The man's injury meant any movement was difficult, said the coastguard.
An Swanage RNLI spokesman explained: "The D class inshore lifeboat transferred pain-relieving gas to the casualty before bringing him carefully to the all weather lifeboat.
"After transfer he was made comfortable for the passage back to Swanage where he was met by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment."
The call for assistance came just after 4pm on Saturday.
The sea state was smooth and visibility good at the time, and the casualty had been recovered by 4.50pm.
