AFC BOURNEMOUTH has pledged to co-operate with police if required following an incident in one of their bars at the weekend.

A flare was let off and staff attacked in the main Away bar just before half time in the match against Newcastle United.

Members of staff, some as young as 16, said they felt threatened and they have spoken to Dorset Police about the incident.

A spokesman for AFC Bournemouth said they are unable to comment on an ongoing police matter but added: "We take the safety and security of staff and supporters very seriously and will therefore cooperate fully with the police, if required."

He said there were 158 safety team members on duty at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.
