PLANS to install two new gas turbines at Wytch Farm oil field to replace its existing “ageing” and “less reliable” engines are set to be approved.
Submitted by its owners Perenco UK, the application will be considered by Dorset County Council’s regulatory committee on Thursday.
A report to councillors says the proposals for the Isle of Purbeck site would have “no adverse impact” on people living nearby to the site and recommends they approve the scheme.
The two new turbines would be installed in the engine hall alongside two 15m exhaust stacks.
No objections to the application have been submitted to the council.
