A CCTV image of a suspect has been released after a 19-year-old was thrown to the floor at a Poole supermarket.
Police are calling for anyone with information to come forward after the incident, which happened at the Tesco Express in Poole Quay just after 7pm on Saturday, February 23.
The victim had parked his car directly outside the store. He went inside and began talking to a member of staff.
Moments later, a man walked into the Tesco, barged past the member of staff, pushed the victim in the chest, grabbed him and threw him to the ground.
The man told the victim he'd almost run over him and his family. He then slapped the victim in the face and kicked his leg.
The victim suffered bruising.
PC Luke Taylor, of Poole police, said: “We have carried out an investigation into this incident and no evidence has been located to support the suspect’s claims."
He said he is keen to identify the man pictured. Anyone with information should visit dorset.police.uk or call 101, quoting 55190028687.
