A BOURNEMOUTH man living with a brain tumour has enjoyed a visit to London's Olympics Aquatics Centre in his role as a charity ambassador.

Chandos Green, 22, joined other representatives of the Brain Tumour Charity when he met Olympic diver and charity supporter Tom Daley and watched the GB Team train for up and coming competitions.

The sportsman has been one of the organisations key supporters since losing his dad to a brain tumour in 2011.

Chandos was first diagnosed with a benign brain tumour aged three, when he underwent brain surgery. He was re-diagnosed aged six when the tumour grew again but remained in remission until being re-diagnosed for the third time in 2014.

He said: "After being re-diagnosed in June 2014 for the third time in my life, I knew I had to do something to support others living with a brain tumour. My third diagnosis came during my first year at university. In the time leading up to my last diagnosis, I knew I had a small amount of my tumour up there after my last operation 12 years prior at age six.

“However, I never thought it would come back and cause an issue! After the realisation that it had grown back I joined forces with The Brain Tumour Charity as a Young Ambassador and have been lucky enough to attend parliament, the House of Lords and a number of fundraising events and conferences to help raise awareness and vital funds to find a cure for the disease that that turned my life upside down.”

Chandos is currently campaigning and speaking about his brain tumour journey at various events, universities and organisations including Cambridge University and Queen Mary University.
