A JOGGER suffered head injuries after he was followed by two youths on bikes and assaulted in Highcliffe at the weekend.
The victim, who is in his 50s, was running in Hinton Wood Avenue between 4.45pm and 5pm on Saturday, March 2 when he 'became involved in an incident involving two youths on bikes', police say.
The young cyclists followed the man on their bikes as he ran into Lymington Road and Wharncliffe Road before heading down Beacon Drive and into Ranelagh Road.
In Ranelagh Road, the man was apparently challenged by a man and a woman in a white car. The victim was then assaulted by the adults and one of the youths.
He suffered head injuries and required hospital treatment.
A 36-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, both of whom are from the Christchurch area, have been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They have been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries.
