STAFF and residents at a Westbourne care home are celebrating after it received a rating of Outstanding from the Care Quality Commission.

Sunrise in Poole Road provides personalised nursing, dementia care and assisted living services and can accommodate up to 114 people.

The report said the service is "exceptionally caring" and said staff members are "always kind and considerate and highly motivated to provide people with the best possible experience of living at the home."

The home is divided into two communities known as the Assisted Living Community and the Reminiscence Community, with the latter delivering specialist care for people living with dementia.

James Glanville, general manager at Sunrise of Westbourne, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have received an overall rating of Outstanding from the Care Quality Commission, especially as the community was undergoing a refurbishment during the time of inspection.

"An ethos of providing personalised and attentive care has always been at the core of everything we do, and our team strive to deliver quality care day in day out.

"We look forward to many more years of providing high quality care to our brilliant residents and their families."
